Chelsea's basketball game

I was also able to watch my oldest niece Chelsea play in her varsity game in Duncan. She is freshman this year and is so dang cute. I can't believe how old she is getting. I still remember playing varsity in high school. Her cousin Jadyn broke her leg in the game so that was pretty scary.

I was able to watch my nephew Ote play in his basketball game over the weekend. It was too cute. All the little kids don't dribble a whole lot, and basically just run back and forth. Ote is actually pretty good for a kid. He knows how to dribble and shoots correctly. Anyways, here are some pics of him playing. He is number 3 in the purple jersey.

We were able to go back home this last weekend and this is what the weather looked like on the trip. Luckily, we went in the new jeep with 4-wheel drive. It was pretty cold and white outside. We even saw a waterfall running down a cliff onto the highway. I wish I could have gotten a pic of it, but of course my camera was in the back. Anyways, here is a pictures near Globe/Miami.

So I had to post this because it is too funny. When we were building our house, we really did think about getting darker tile so that it wouldn't get too dirty looking. Well, now that I see it, we matched our dog to our tile perfectly!! Isn't that funny!

Flooding in Arizona

So this is kind of a late post, but last week Arizona was flooding. I happen to live in Chandler, where it usually never rains. Not only did it pour rain, there was also tornado warnings. Weird I know! I found myself wondering what I would do if a tornado hit. Ben just laughs at me, but I am serious about it, since I am such a wuss. I told him that us and the dogs would surround ourselves with our couches, and put our really large and heavy table on top of us. I know....I am weird....But at least I will be prepared when the next tornado wants to make its way through Chandler. And by the way, I don't think the tornado ever even came close to Chandler....This is a picture of a little grassy area that is by our house that is basically flooded. They build these types of areas so that collects water, which is exactly what it did! At least we know our water drainage system works!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

So today is my mom's birthday. I hope she had a great day. She was even off from school for the holiday, so that was good. My mom was always there for us as kids. I don't think I ever even had a babysitter my whole life because she stayed home with us until my sister Kimberly went to college. My mom decided to go back to school when Kimberly did. Not only did she get her bachelors, but also her masters in education. I really don't even remember her studying so she must have done all that when we went to bed. My mom has worked really hard to get where she is today. I don't think she was able to have the same childhood that me and my siblings had, so she deserves a lot. Thanks mom for always being there for us as a mom and now as a friend. We love you and happy birthday!!!! I also want to wish my mom's twin sister Christine a happy birthday as well. Here is a picture of them at my dad's retirement party in 2009. They are now 58!!!!!!

Hummingbirds

So I recently bought a hummingbird feeder for my house. We always had them up at the ranch, so I decided I needed to get one too. I love hummingbirds. They are so little and pretty. I seem to have this one hummingbird that has claimed its territory in our yard. It chases all the other hummingbirds away, so we only seem to have this one. It sits in our little tree. Today I was in the yard and can literally walk up to it close enough I could touch it. It must love its sugar water, because it is not scared at all. Anyways, I got some good pics of it sitting in the tree all puffed up and some of it drinking. ;)

This is what happens when you give your boxer a carrot....Apparently he doesn't like it. But good news is that I found a new way to shred carrots ;)

This year my niece Cassidy took her two lambs to the national livestock show. She did great, especially considering it was her first year to show animals. She seems like she has done it for a long time but really hasn't. She worked a lot with her lamb and you could tell. It minded her very well. She is going to miss her lamb a lot.
