The Stockyards

Awesome saying
This year we spent Thanksgiving in Dallas with Ben's family. We had a great time with everyone and got to go to the stockyards. The weather was pretty nice except on Thanksgiving day, which was pretty cold. It was mostly in the 80's, but on Thanksgiving day it dropped down to the 40's. Here are some pics of everyone!!!

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma Rene!

Today is my grandma's 90th birthday...It is so crazy that she is 90...I just wish she would be able to remember any of it at all....See my grandma has Alzheimer's. She has had it a long time. She has slowly gotten worse over the years, to the point she can't take a shower by herself and really doesn't know how to eat a sandwich :(   It is so ironic to think that a class valedictorian would lose her ability to think and remember. My grandma was such a smart lady...One thing she hasn't lost is her ability to be stubborn ;)  I wish that she could somehow remember this party, one that a lot of her grandkids, great-grandkids and all 3 of her sons will be at. One thing is for sure is that I will take lots of pictures. I hope she had a great day and I hope that this will be one memorable time for my family. Here is a picture of her as a young lady and last year when she was 89....She sure looks a lot like my dad does :)

Our yard

So here are a couple of pics of our backyard. I think it is starting to look nice and green. Once it cools off, we will really enjoy it!!

Grilled Pizza!

I hate how hot our kitchen can get in the summer when we cook, so we grill outside a lot. It is soooo nice. Ben decided to make us some awesome grilled pizza from scratch. He even made the dough! Anyways, he can't have tomato sauce so he made a garlic olive oil sauce and added spinach, mushrooms, cheese and green chili. Mine was your traditional tomato sauce with tons of green chili, mushrooms, and feta cheese. Sooooo Good!

Mom and Dad!

I just think this a cute pic of my mom and dad. This was outside of my house in Chandler.

I know it has been a while. I don't know what happened. I guess time goes by way to fast! I have a lot to catch up on so here it goes. My cousin Barbara Rae and her husband Kevin baptized Calvin in June. It was nice to see everyone since we never get to see that side of the family. My mom's brother Calvin died when I was in college and Barbara and John Calvin were his kids. Paula is their mom. My mom's twin sister Christine also was able to come with them up to Chandler for it, so that was really nice. Here are some pics of us.

Trying to be crafty!

This is what happens when I get bored and don't want to spend tons of money on a flower arrangement. I went out to the yard, and picked some grass and put it in a vase. I know....I am superwoman...I actually think it turned out really pretty. Ben even liked it and he was laughing at me with my scissors outside just snipping away! However, after just a few days, my poor arrangement is already dying. So I guess that means I really do have to go and buy some pricey flowers. Oh well....

Ben's 28th Birthday!

So Ben turned 28 on May 3rd! We didn't celebrate at all, due to the fact that he had a huge final the next day...Poor guy. The first picture is him on his actual birthday studying away. He couldn't even take calls from people. The second picture is today of him with his ice cream cake I got him, right after we went out to eat sushi for his b-day dinner.  And the next one is with his new teapot that he loves from his brother Peter.  I love you Ben and hope that at least the day after your real birthday was great! And by the way, I did get him a gift, which was a great grill that I am mastering ;)

Intel Party in Tucson/Mount Lemmon

This past weekend Ben & I went to a great Intel party at a nice resort in Tucson. We only stayed the Friday night and the next day decided to go up to Mount Lemmon. It was a pretty short weekend but we had fun. Ben's brother Peter drove with us, since he works at Intel too. I got to see a lot of my friends that I rarely get to see, so that was good. Right behind our hotel was an awesome waterfall you could walk right up to. I also wore one earring all day....Weird...Don't know where that fell out but didn't even realize it until we got back to Tucson from Mount Lemmon. No wonder everyone was looking at me funny ;) So here are some pics with me and my one earring....still mad about losing that earring.

Going Private :(

Sorry guys...I am going private because I had a stupid idiot that posted a cuss word on one of my posts. Creep, that is all I have to say. What makes me the most mad is that he posted this word on a post I did of my little nephew. He basically called me a bitch which I still can't seem to figure out. Anyways, not worth my time. So if anyone wants to keep looking at my profile, just send me your info so I can add you. Thanks and sorry everyone because it really does suck that I have to go private. I hate when I have to look at someone's blog & it is private :(

Birthdays everywhere!!

I am pretty late at posting this....I just haven't been in the mood to blog :( Anyways, we actually have been having a lot of things going on this year. We were able to go to Monster Jam. My entire family went which was really cool since that never happens. Of course, I decided
to not bring my camera, which was a stupid idea. I could have taken some really cool pics. So no pics of Monster trucks!
My mom had a birthday on Jan. 18th (which I may have already posted
about ;)) My niece Chelsea had a birthday on Feb. 13 and my dad had a birthday on Feb. 27th!! Ben cooked me a really great dinner for Valentines Day
and also got me a facial, massage, and pedicure at Dolce in Chandler :) I have already gotten the massage and facial which were awesome!!!
My sister Kambrah had a birthday on March 2nd. My niece Cassidy will be having a birthday this month as well (I will post about it later). Cassidy has been playing club volleyball down here as well. She is getting a lot better! My nephew Ote also started wrestling and he got 2nd place in his weight class! I was also able to eat dinner last week with my childhood friend Jenni. It was great to catch up on stuff! We have been keeping busy with all the birthdays and functions we are going to. As a matter of fact, this weekend
we are going to an Intel function in Tucson. It should be lots of fun. Chandler has been getting tons of rain this year. I love rain, but sometimes I just want the day to be warm and sunny. At least my grass will look nice and green! Oh yeah...My good friend Rachel had her baby Audrey on my sister's birthday and we were able to see her the day after she was born. She is sooo cute!!
